Future Wales Festival
In September this year, the National Assembly for Wales will host GWLAD, Future Wales Festival.
GWLAD is being held at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay between September 25 – 29, 2019. Three regional mini-festivals will also be held during the Autumn.
The packed programme, delivered in partnership with various organisations has a little something for everyone – a mixture of performances, music, comedy, and thought provoking talks, lectures, and panel discussions on a range of topics such a journalism, sport, politics and culture.
Question Time visits the Senedd for the first time with their topical debate in which guests from the worlds of politics and the media answer questions posed by members of the public.
Vaughan Roderick will be this year’s guest speaker in BBC Radio Wales’s annual Patrick Hannan Lecture.
Born and brought up in Cardiff, Vaughan is BBC Wales’ Welsh Affairs Editor and presenter of weekly political shows on Radio Wales and Radio Cymru.
Little Wander, the team behind the Machynlleth Comedy Festival will be bringing some of our finest Welsh comedians to the Senedd for the first time.
An in conversation event with artists featured in the exhibition chaired by Ffotogallery.
The Institute of Welsh Affairs hosts a discussion chaired by Derek Walker of the Wales Cooperative Centre and Jonah Earle of Economy.
Charlotte Church is a singer-songwriter, actress, TV presenter and political activist. Come along for an hour of lively chat and discussion.

The relationship between the media and politics has never been more important – nor more fractious. As people get their news from a variety of sources, new channels of media has radically altered the way that government institutions operate, the way political leaders communicate, the manner in which elections are contested and citizen engagement.
In July, the National Assembly for Wales held its first Citizens Assembly as part of its programme of events to note 20 years of devolution. This session will look at the process of setting up the Citizens Assembly, participant experiences and the recommendations collected during the weekend.
